Jersey International Chess Tournament 2026

A fantastic week of chess with some excellent play in both the Open and Holiday tournament.

The Open division was headed by IM Wang Hao of China, whose 5.5/9 was enough to see off a strong chasing pack that included former British Champion GM Keith Arkell and England's IM Jovanka Houska, both finishing on 5 points. In the Holiday tournament — reserved for players rated under 1900 FIDE or under 160 ECF — France's Antoine Canonne took top spot on 5.5/9, with James Auckland and Matthew Kirk tying for second on 4.5 points each.
